Full Moon at 25Ā° Pisces on September 17 at 8:34 PM MST
Sabian Symbol: A New Moon reveals that itās a good time for people to go ahead with their different projects
Eclipses bring forward fated events in our lives, and, depending on how our individual natal charts are responding to each eclipse, the hand of fate can strike us heavily or mildly. Either way, itās a great time to practice being observant of the messages the universe might be sending us at this time. A sense of discernment is important here, of course, but itās good practice to take note of the changes weāre experiencing and take them seriously as signals. Eclipses are also times to surrender to the swift and turbulent shifts in our lives, as though we are on a boat sailing through choppy waters. Thereās no use in trying to control the unfolding sequence of events in our lives over the next few weeks (the next Solar Eclipse will be on October 2nd, during the New Moon in Libra). There is no control, only surrender, observation, and response.
Prepare to surrender yourself to a purpose that is unknowable and take a leap of faith. This Full Moon is a partial lunar eclipse, and while the nodes of fate are still well within the signs of Aries and Libra, the syzygy on the Virgo/Pisces axis is beginning to get the nodal treatment. As with all Full Moons, this one is going to make us feel energetic and a little tense, but there will likely be more psychosomatic effects to this one. The Sun will sit grounded in reality in Virgo opposing the Moon who is lost in the Ʀther in Pisces channeling from beyond the boundaries of this dimension. Wires are getting crossed as we try to pass too quickly between the realms of reality and hyperreality, causing us to send mixed messages and misinterpret what others are saying to us. One of the characteristics of Pisces is self-undoing. Itās a place where, if weāre not careful, we can start to put too much weight on our emotions and spiral out in a whirlpool of feelings and lose ourselves. The partial lunar eclipse here makes this significantly more challenging because when the Moon is clouded by the shadow of the Earth, we can feel an urge to suppress our feelings, or like we are having some sort of trouble expressing them in the right manner. This can be a chaotic disaster if weāre not careful. The way to balance out this energy is by trying to ground in the Earthāchanneling the Virgo energy to find some inner peace. The other concerning aspect to this Full Moon is its proximity to Neptune at 28Ā° Pisces, making us more prone to being delusional and acting out based on conclusions weāve drawn based on nothing.
The Virgo/Pisces axis continues to be highlighted at this time as Mercury opposes Saturn. This transit is going to feel isolating and lonesome, which might come as a shock since we finished up last week on such a high note with the Jupiter/Venus trine. With Mercury and Saturn locked up like this, we are likely going to feel challenged by difficult rejections, especially when it comes to connecting with someone. Thereās a certain mindset, or strategy, we can use during this transit to help us maintain our dignity and keep track of our intentions as we navigate difficult interpersonal relationships: the way you can be mindful when reaching out to someone is by asking yourself, āAm I going to feel hurt if they donāt respond to me?ā This is a wise way of getting clarity on the underlying motivation of opening up to someoneāin general, but mostly during this stormy celestial weather. Whatās interesting about this dynamic is we are being thrust into the tension between relentless, emotional mood swings and rational, critical analysis, but we can often mistake the two when it comes to our behavior. So often when we rationalize our behaviors, or spend too much time reflecting on what we have done, are doing, or are going to do, we think we are living in a grounded way, but really we are using ārational thinkingā to cover up the fact that we are acting out emotionally, or trying to fulfill a more primal desire. Iām riffing on this tangent here because today and tomorrow, we can expect to be silenced and shut down when we try to communicate, and it will pass quickly, but we have to get very honest with ourselves about whether or not our actions and impulses are truly being motivated by something logical, or something more subconscious than logic. This is all a part of the larger lesson of surrender the Pisces eclipse is going to teach us. But, also, when Saturn is involved, itās best to just assume nothing is going to go according to plan and youāre just going to have to keep your head down and work.
Adding to the frenzy of the lunar eclipse is a vague feeling of knavish mischief as the Sun prepares to make a trine to Uranus in Taurus. This transit is enormously helpful coming on the heels of an eclipse (the trine is exact on September 19) because it involves integration of lessons. Be prepared to be taken by surprise at how well you are able to make sense of all the harrowing, unhinged, and chaotic series of events that occurred on the eclipse.
On a molecular level, you will likely feel out of it for most of this week going into the eclipse and coming out of it. Your dreams are going to tell you things, strange omens will cross your paths, and youāre going to feel a bit sad. Go with the flow of your emotions and do not try and rationalize your way out of them. The best way to control yourself is by not trying to control the external world around you.
This next lunar cycle is a portal of sorts, the time in between eclipses is always like a Time apart from normal Time, and the astrology does not disappoint.
September 20: Mercury in Virgo square Jupiter in Gemini
This is a particularly tricky transit because Jupiter is debilitated in the sign of Gemini and disposited by Mercury, who is enjoying his time in the sign of his rulership and exaltation. This transit can make us feel arrogant and dangerously grandiose. In our excitement in making plans for the future, or simply just organizing the next few activities in our lives, we are prone to overlooking small details. You can never be too thorough, and always err on the side of being too prepared.
September 22: AUTUMNAL EQUINOX (Sun ingress into Libra)
A new season begins! For those of us living in the northern hemisphere, the Earth is officially tilting away from the Sun and we enter into the time of darkness. We will feel a calm wind ushering in brisk air, weāll notice the days getting shorter, weāll start to miss the extended sunlight. The time of darkness brings the time of dreams and messages from beyond the veil. On this day of exquisite balance between light and dark, we stop to honor the Sun for all the gifts itās given us this year and say farewell. Fire-building and hearth-making becomes our focus now.
September 23: Venus ingress into Scorpio
After enjoying a month or so of Venus in her domicile of Libra, Venus is moving on and into the sign of her detriment. This ingress is going to affect us by way of making us more suspicious and antsyĀ in our feelings of self-worth and how we connect with others. Embracing heaviness, darkness, sorrow, and rage is important for this transit.
September 26: Mercury ingress into Libra
This is yet another rapid change in atmosphere and vibe. Everything around us is turning more and more Libronic. Balance, harmony, peace, sweetness, austerity. All of these qualities are coming to our modes of communication. We can expect to become more diplomatic and in search of peace.
September 29: Mars in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces
The malefics meet in a helpful and supportive aspect that will encourage us to do good work and craft a mastery over ourselves. This is an incredibly pragmatic transit that you can use to tie up loose ends on a project, or get organized for a new project coming up. Maybe leverage this assist from the universe to get clear on entry into Quarter 4 of the fiscal year!
