This is fantastic. I’m only now finding Cosmographia (after watching your Hell Money episode a dozen times).

I keep coming back to your idea - “those who build are not necessarily aware of the larger purpose these monuments will serve.” It’s unlikely they understand the permanence either. The Egyptians expressed their understanding of the truth with such conviction that it became permanent. Just like when a Bitcoin block is mined, it’s an expression of this moment’s truth - which transactions occurred and in precisely what order. Permanence and a larger purpose aren't goals so much as they are a result of the commitment to capturing the present truth.

This is very good - also very important. I recorded a podcast episode with “garden of doom” (need to upload my video of it!) a few months back on a topic very close to this one. - the expression of architecture in a spiritual/cosmic manner is bursting at the seams within our culture to find actualization. In my own team’s design work - I have us use dynamic solar/shadow renderings. There is so much more than “light on two sides of each room” that can be used for. Our massive cultural interest in megaliths means that the grand temples of whatever religion is emerging are yet to be built. - it is a chicken and the egg problem. Do we understand first the religion - or the building?
